Project Brief

Onenet Broadband needed to move beyond a manual, admin-heavy signup process. The goal was a conversion-focused ISP website that didn’t just generate leads – it needed to function as a complete telecom sales and provisioning pipeline, with WordPress connected directly to Splynx.

The result is a fully automated broadband ordering system purpose-built for Australian ISPs operating across NBN, Opticomm, and private fibre networks.

WordPress ↔ Splynx Integration

The core of the build is a custom WordPress plugin that acts as a true frontend for Splynx – not a disconnected CRM or basic form handler.

Capabilities include:

  • Real-time Splynx API communication with structured error handling and logging
  • Automated customer account creation directly from checkout
  • Tariff ID mapping for accurate plan and add-on assignment
  • Recurring and once-off billing synchronisation
  • Secure EA token authentication

This effectively turns WordPress into a telecom application layer tightly coupled with backend provisioning.

Broadband Checkout & Provisioning Flow

The checkout was engineered to align frontend UX with real ISP backend requirements:

  • Address validation – service qualification against NBN, Opticomm, and fibre availability
  • Dynamic plan filtering – available plans filtered by network type and speed eligibility
  • Real-time pricing – monthly and once-off costs calculated on the fly
  • Stripe pre-authorisation – payment details validated before provisioning begins
  • Splynx customer creation – account created instantly via API on checkout completion
  • Service provisioning – plans and add-ons assigned using mapped tariff IDs
  • Billing activation – structured to align with Splynx billing cycles and automation rules

Key Technical Challenges

Splynx API Constraints – Inconsistent API responses required pre-validation logic and detailed logging to ensure reliable provisioning without silent failures.

Telecom Product Complexity – Multiple plan types, speed tiers, add-ons, and billing models had to be mapped into a structured system Splynx could reliably consume.

Service Eligibility Enforcement – Users are blocked from incompatible plans based on their address and network type, while still seeing the full product range.

Billing vs Provisioning Logic – Shifted the architecture from invoice-first to a service-first provisioning model aligned with how ISPs actually operate in Splynx.

Outcome

The system replaced manual provisioning workflows with a scalable digital pipeline – reducing errors through strict validation, accelerating customer onboarding, and giving Onenet a foundation to scale their product offerings without increasing admin overhead.
